Here are some of our biggest winners from November!

November was an exciting month for National Lottery players around the country, which saw a public syndicate from Co. Mayo scoop the Daily Million top prize of €1 Million and 50 Irish EuroMillions players took home an amazing €50,000 each in the National Lottery’s, ’12 Draws of Christmas’, promotion.

A player from Co. Offaly became the biggest winner of Wednesday night’s Lotto draw on the 24th of November after matching 5 numbers and the bonus to scoop a whopping €225,634.

The player, who wished to remain private, revealed the moment they realised they’d won the incredible prize: “I was so engrossed in the World Cup and I completely forgot to check my tickets that evening. It was only later on before bed it clicked with me and I went online to have a look. Well, words just can’t describe the feeling! It was mixture of shock, disbelief and excitement. I’d to check the numbers at least four or five times to be sure, before I told my partner”, they said. The winning match 5 plus bonus ticket was sold Monday the 21st of November in Spar, Obama Plaza, Moneygall, Co. Offaly.  “I was so worried about looking after the ticket, that I put it in bubble wrap and hid it under my bed!”, they added.  “You took better care of that ticket than you do me”, the winner’s partner jested. 

And on Wednesday 30th of November, Christmas came early for one Kildare player who matched 5 numbers and the bonus to scoop an incredible €94,809. The winning quick pick ticket was sold on Sunday the 27th of November in Spar on Edward Street in Newbridge, Co. Kildare.


November was a memorable month for Irish EuroMillions players, as the National Lottery kicked off its ’12 Draws of Christmas’, promotion which saw ten players scoop €50,000 each in every EuroMillions draw every Tuesday and Friday between November 15th and December 23rd. 

In the month of November alone, 50 players won €50,000 each in this exciting raffle event. This comes to a combined total of €2.5 million in prizes!

The first draw took place on November 15th, where 10 players won an amazing €50,000 each.  Seven players in Dublin and one player in Kerry, Meath and Clare all scooped the special raffle prize.  The shops that sold the winning tickets were:

The second draw of this special promotion took place on November 18th where three players in Dublin, two players in Cork and one player in Clare, Galway, Kildare, Kilkenny and Tipperary all scooped the special raffle prize.

On November 22nd Four players in Dublin, two players in Tipperary and one player in Galway, Louth, Donegal and Kilkenny all scooped €50,0000 each which was the third of twelve draws in the National Lottery’s ’12 Draws of Christmas’ promotion.

The fourth draw took place on Friday 25th November where three players in Dublin and one player in Cavan, Cork, Laois, Kildare, Meath, Monaghan and Waterford all scooped the special raffle prize.

The 30th of November saw the fifth draw in the ’12 Draws of Christmas’, raffle and final one of the month. Three players in Dublin, two players in Kilkenny and one player in Cork, Longford, Tipperary, Waterford and Westmeath each took home the €50,000 prize.

EuroMillions Plus

On the 4th November, a player from Mayo scooped the EuroMillions plus top prize ticket worth a whopping €500,000. The player, who wished to remain private, spoke of what they did when they found out they’d won the incredible prize: “I thought I was seeing things – €500,000 flashed up on the app on my phone. I had to check it three times to be sure. Then I ran down the house roaring and got everyone up out of their beds to celebrate!”, they said.  

The player from Charlestown in Co. Mayo purchased their EuroMillions Plus ticket worth €500,000 on the National Lottery app.  “We’re proud Charlestown locals, with a young family just starting out. This has come at the most perfect time in our lives. We’ve just secured a mortgage and are building our forever home”, one family member said. 

“Dollywood here we come!”, another family member shouted with glee throwing their hands in the air. The room erupted with laughter as giddiness and excitement took over. 

A EuroMillions player in Athlone in Co. Westmeath scooped the EuroMillions Plus top prize worth €500,000 on November 22nd. The winning ticket was sold on the day of the draw at Tuthill’s newsagents in the Golden Island Shopping Centre, Athlone, Co. Westmeath.


November saw a 47-strong syndicate from Co. Mayo scoop the Daily Million top prize worth €1,000,000. The Green and Red of Mayo was belted out in song as the retirement group called ‘Young at Heart’, based in Parke located near Turlough just outside Castlebar in Co. Mayo, landed up to National Lottery HQ to claim their prize.

The forty-seven-strong syndicate was formed seven years ago in January 2015. Michael Cosgrave, spokesperson for the syndicate, described the utter shock he felt after finding out the group had won the amazing prize: “Ah, we were all so excited when we found out. Anne Kelly rang me and said, Woah we’ve won a big one! We’re so happy to be sharing this prize with each other rather than one individual winning it on their own. It means so much more to us as a group to experience this joy together”, he said. 

The winning ticket was sold in Turlough Stores, in Turlough Co. Mayo on 3rd November. Syndicate member Anne Kelly revealed how the group has already had a National lottery style celebration at one of their group meetings in Parke. “We had a meeting the Thursday after we’d won and we our own celebrations with bubbly, food and music. It was a real party, and the atmosphere was just electric! The whole community is really delighted for us”, she added. 

A cruise, a trip to Greenland and a holiday of a lifetime are just some of the things members of the syndicate hope to do with their winnings. 


In November, three scratch card players shared a combined €180,000. This included a €30,000 win on a Hampers and Cash card purchased at Centra in Lettermore, Co. Galway. €100,000 was won on a Countdown to Christmas ticket sold at Londis in Ballyfermot, Dublin 10. And finally, €50,000 was won on an All Cash Extravaganza card purchased at Duane’s Foodstore in Kiltullagh, Athenry, Co. Galway.
